Take Your Cattitude to Work
June 15, 2020

June 22 nd is Take Your Cat to Work Day. Of course, lots of people have been taking their work to their cats this year. Have you been working from home a lot lately? If so, you may find yourself with a fuzzy, nosy, perhaps slightly judgmental coworker. Fluffy can actually be quite inspirational at times like this. Read on as a local Fayetteville, NC vet offers some advice on taking your cattitude to work.

Get Lots Of Sleep

If there is one thing we can learn from our feline pals, it’s the importance of getting enough sleep. Cats may go a bit overboard with this one, as they can sleep up to 20 hours a day. You don’t have to go quite as far as your furry buddy. 8 hours is plenty for most people! Just make sure you’re getting enough rest.

Make Time To Play

Fluffy may slow down as she ages, but she’ll always be a kitten at heart. Kitties are always adorable as they are pouncing on their toys or just racing around like furry little tornadoes. There’s a good chance that your pet’s silly antics will put a smile on your face as well!

Think Things Over

Cats are very good at pondering. (We’re not sure exactly what they think about, aside from their next meal, perhaps, but that’s another topic.) When a problem comes along, give yourself a moment to think before reacting.

Focus

Have you ever watched a cat that’s about to pounce on something? Fluffy is all business when she is in ‘predator’ mode. Take a cue from your feline friend, and really concentrate on the task at hand.

Be Comfortable

Making sure that you are comfortable at your workstation is very important! If you’re at a desk, make sure that everything is at the proper height and angle, and that you have good lighting. Of course, if you’re working from home, you may also want to take a few steps to make your desk a bit more kitty proof. Remove any small objects that Fluffy may bat around, and always use covered cups or glasses when drinking at your desk. Otherwise, your feline buddy could very well knock your beverage onto your computer.
