Fluffy’s Thanksgiving Plans
November 15, 2021
Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Many people are already sorting out their holiday plans, and perhaps even starting some shopping. Of course, our feline pals have their own Turkey Day agendas. In this article, a Fayetteville, NC vet lists some of the things your kitty has on her schedule.

Supervise Cooking

Cats are always very, very interested in what their humans are doing. Fluffy will pay very close attention to what’s going on in the kitchen, and she may very well get underfoot. Some of our feline patients will also be rubbing against their humans’ legs to beg for scraps.

Eat

Dinner is definitely the main event for the autumn holiday. Why not make your furry pal something special? Fluffy can have some cooked, plain turkey, though you’ll need to remove the skin, bones, and fat first. A can of tuna would also not be inappropriate. Just don’t let your kitty have anything that isn’t safe for her. That list includes things like garlic and onions, grapes; raisins; chocolate; alcohol; meat on the bone; and raw dough or yeast.

Nap

No matter what day it is, Fluffy will dutifully carve out time for her 32 daily naps. If you have your company put jackets on a bed, you may want to keep the door to that room closed. Otherwise, your kitty may decide to snooze on your guests’ coats!

Steal Chairs

Kitties are quite opportunistic little furballs. At some point, someone is going to get up for something, or perhaps leave the table for a moment … only to find their spot occupied when they return. Fluffy will probably also manage to look very innocent as well.

Play

Did you know that playing with your cat daily is one of the best things you can do for her? Pick up a new toy for Fluffy, and indulge her with a fun play session. Of course, your furball may ignore her plaything and pounce on a bottlecap instead … that’s just purr for the course with our feline buddies.

Cuddle

After dinner, many people will wind down by watching the game, or perhaps by settling in for a good movie. Don’t be surprised if Fluffy hops into your lap for snuggle time. Cats make great cuddle buddies! Happy Thanksgiving! Please contact us, your Fayetteville, NC pet hospital, for your cat’s veterinary care needs. We’re here to help!
