Director of Hospital Administration

Dawn was very young when she first realized that she wanted to work in the animal-care field someday. She knew that her passion for pet care and her natural people skills would serve her well! Now, Dawn has been a member of the Cross Creek Animal Hospital family for more than 20 wonderful years—she looks forward to continuing to serve the area’s pets and animal owners as the clinic’s Director of Hospital Administration.

Dawn grew up in Colorado and Vermont and first began her journey in animal medicine as a Kennel Assistant.

When she isn’t tending to her administrative duties here at the clinic, Dawn can be found enjoying the great outdoors, or relaxing with her family and pets. She has a Staffordshire Terrier, Maya who makes Dawn smile on a daily basis, as well as two loveable cats named Johnny Cash, and Charlie Daniels.

Cortney has dedicated 15 years to the veterinary field, providing compassionate care for pets. She started her career in 2010 at a Veterinary Clinic in her hometown of West Virginia where she worked until she moved to North Carolina in 2021 to be closer to her dad. As a little girl, Cortney always dreamed of a job that involved animals. Not only does she love animals in general, but she also loves caring for and working with them. For as long as she can remember, she has always had a pet present in her life. Cortney carries out her work with a lot of passion and love daily, and she finds nothing better than experiencing that connection with the pets she works with.

When Cortney is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her three girls and husband doing outdoor activities but also having lazy days on the couch watching movies. She also enjoys snuggling with her fur-babies at home, she has 3 dogs and 3 cats that are spoiled endlessly.
