Traveling with your pet, whether for a short trip or something more long-term, like a permanent change of station (PCS), requires a decent amount of planning ahead. This is especially true if you plan on traveling by air and/or if your destination happens to be in another country. In many cases, you will be required by law to have an up-to-date Pet Health Certificate, completed by a specially accredited veterinarian.
In order to receive a Pet Health Certificate, your pet must meet a number of requirements, including but not limited to the following:
Cross Creek Animal Hospital is pleased to offer this important service to our clients and their beloved travel-companions. If you are planning an upcoming trip, be sure to schedule an appointment with us as soon as possible.
Our team will gladly guide you through the entire process, making it quick and easy. All you need to do is bring your pet, and we’ll take care of the rest!
You may also want to double check the specific USDA rules and regulations for pet travel based on your destination country. Likewise, most airlines require proof of a valid health certificate within a specified amount of time prior to travel, along with other requirements.
By preparing for all of these things well in advance, you’ll prevent potential delays or cancellations that could put a damper on your travel experience.
